THE DESERT BRIDE
“Only by crossing the desert can we find ourselves”.
The Desert Bride tells the story of Teresa, a 54-year-old woman who works as a live-in maid for a family in Buenos Aires. For decades, she’s found refuge in the routine of her tasks, but now, the family has decided to sell the house and after years of service, she’s suddenly adrift. In the absence of a different alternative, she accepts a new job in the province of San Juan.
She leaves the city behind – without suspecting – the will of the unpredictable. At her first stop, the Santuario de la Difunta Correa, Teresa loses her bag carrying her whole belongings. The unexpected accident will take her across the desert of Cuyo with a stranger, known as the Gringo, her new road companion. As the trip advances, they breakthrough into each other’s universe. Making this silent and dull woman slowly come to life in full color.
